This is a 250mm tripod (three legged) wall-mount bracket which means a 250 mm offset from the mounting surface. It is galvanised for longevity. Commonly called a 250mm tripod bracket, these are widely used to mount poles to walls to act as an antenna mast. The required offset depends on the application, usually a roof overhang.
