Details
The switch module has been tested and approved to the required standard of IEC / SANS60669-1 and has been issued with an LOA (Letter of Authority) from the NRCS (National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications) allowing for the sale of the product in South Africa. The switch module is equivalent to a double module in size in order to make switching easier and add a little difference to the installation. The switch module can be used for switching any lighting load up to 16A, including fluorescents and LEDs. The internal switch rocker is made from copper and has silver tip contacts to ensure the best possible conductance. The plastic casing is made from a mix of high quality plastics including flame retardant polycarbonate to ensure strength, durability and prevention against fires and nylon to allow for flexibility which ensures the module can easily be inserted or removed from the fixing frames. Once the module is inserted in the fixing frame it can only be removed with a small flat screw driver but due to the flexible properties of nylon the clipping mechanism can easily be pushed in to allow for removal of the module. The switch terminals are clearly numbered with a corresponding wiring diagram on the side of the switch to make installation and connection as simple as possible. The switch terminals use a clamping mechanism as opposed to a screw connection in order to prevent stranded cable from breaking and coming loose. The switch terminals come with 2 holes per terminal to make it easier and safer to insert 2 wires when bridging is required.
